My name is Melena Bryant, Procurement Manager at the Woodhaven facility. I have worked at Woodhaven for 26 years. I was hired to separate materials for the sewers. I knew that I wanted more so I learned as much as possible about the cutting and sewing department, which is the department I was first hired to work in. I worked my way up to be plant supervisor, then I earned myself a position working in the office and learning the ERP system, and then became office manager.
As a new challenge, I was asked to step into to the Procurement Department. I have since worked up to be Procurement Manager. I aspire to work with all the teams within our company to help flow high-quality products seamlessly, starting with the conception of an idea all the way to the delivery of the products to the customer's home.
I enjoy spending time with my family and contributing to my community. I help with Toys for Tots drive. I also help to prepare gift bags for the elderly, who are wards of the state, in some of our local nursing homes. I help to support many local sports teams for younger children in our community. I do not plan on stopping here. I still have a long way to go.
