Summary: | Performs duties related to data mining, machine learning, statistical modeling, and analytics to build algorithms that will result in massive improvements to the way Aaron’s does business.Responsible for developing and improving key decision systems and predictive models to drive maximum business impact. Supports risk decisioning processes to improve business performance.

Duties and Responsibilities: | ·Develops statistical, machine learning and AI models using R or Python ·Explores internal and external data sources to further improve model performance ·Performs feature engineering, model validation, testing and optimization ·Works with IT and business intelligence teams on model implementation and validation ·Recommends and supports strategic business changes through rigorous analytics, deep understanding of the business, and creative problem solving ·Uses data visualization techniques to effectively communicate analytical results ·Identifies, evaluates, and implements emerging ML technologies | |
Education and Experience: | ·Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field) ·At least 2 years of relevant Data Science experience | |
Required Skills and Competencies: | ·Strong creative problem solving and communication skills. ·Strong understanding of machine learning concepts. ·Fluent in machine learning, data exploration, and visualization tools such as R and/or Python ·Intermediate skills with querying languages (SQL, etc.) ·Demonstrated ability applying statistical modeling techniques to solve business problems |
