Interested in becoming a ITSM Engineer - Intermediate at Aaron’s? The IT Service Management Engineer will develop, support, configure, and maintain the ServiceNow implementation. The ITSM Engineer will have fluency in JavaScript and ServiceNow development principles that enables them to work with our ITSM team, external development partners, and key stakeholders to develop enterprise business solutions for our internal customers that leverage ITIL processes and best practices. The incumbent will be part of a team responsible for the enhancement of the ServiceNow platform and must be able to act with a sense of urgency and adapt to changing priorities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and customize ServiceNow by participating in Agile Scrum processes and using JavaScript, Bootstrap, AngularJS and other coding technologies
  • Transform functional requirements into detailed technical designs that represent actionable development tasks
  • Define and meet standards for implementations in ServiceNow to ensure consistency and supportability of customizations
  • Work with business unit system administrators to define integrations and perform integrations and process automation using ServiceNow Orchestration, REST and SOAP web services
  • Create documentation for the team and provide internal training
  • Ability to support working outside of normal business hours to provide after hour or "on-call" support when necessary to solve high profile issues or complete critical path items

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering or Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Science or related field OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years developing software solutions
  • 2+ years JavaScript development
  • 2+ years using ServiceNow or an equivalent cloud platform to manage a large, complex enterprise

Required Skills:

  • Well-versed in troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Well-versed in Agile with scrum development methodologies
  • Recognize general coding patterns
  • Passion for learning and rapid iteration
  • Ability to pull a diverse group of individuals with different goals together and facilitate productive discussions
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Requires ability to effectively interact with team members on technical issues and ability to brief senior management / customer on technical issues
  • Communication – Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. This includes the ability to describe or explain complex processes and issues in a concise manner
  • Collaboration – Nurtures and builds effective partnerships with clients to achieve results; team player, comfortable working on multiple teams/projects simultaneously and independently, as needed. Must be able to work collaboratively across departments and physical locations
