Interested in becoming a Manager, IAM & Directory Services at Aaron’s? This role is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of the complete Directory Services stack (Active Directory, Azure Active Directory) and the enterprise Identity & Access Management platform. The position will regularly evaluate new products, design scripted automation processes, continually look for opportunities for process improvements, ensure that end users and endpoints are leveraging the latest security protocols to protect identities & corporate data and maintain the appropriate documentation & environment maps.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and regularly maintain Directory Services components (ADFS, SAML, SSO Cloud Authentication, 2FA/MFA, AD Connect, PKI, DNS, WINS, GPO, Sites & Services, AD Domains &
  • Trust, AD Replication, ADSI, AD Sites & Services, AD Security, Kerberos, LDAP, CIS Benchmarks)
  • Design and regularly maintain the Identity & Access Management platform (Azure Identity components & IAM platform)
  • Identify & troubleshoot all AD related issues (Replication, FSMO Roles etc.)
  • Evaluate new products to increase efficiency of end user experience and AD operations
  • Document & visualize all Directory Services within and outside the organization
  • Develop internal and external integration, migration plans/schedules for Directory Services solutions, as well as public cloud solutions
  • Provide research and automated deployment solutions for implementations and improvements of the Directory Services and IAM platforms
  • Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Frequently interact with internal and external customers and functional peer groups
  • Responsible for maintaining Aaron’s Technology infrastructure architecture standards (Public and Private Cloud)
  • Provide interface for strategy and direction with technology providers
  • Participate in overall architectural strategy and roadmaps for the Directory Services environment and compliance monitoring tools
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and standards for impact on Aaron’s Technology infrastructure
  • Plan and execute platform changes with minimal disruption to service
  • Perform technology benchmarking
  • Participate in overall architectural strategy for infrastructure management and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Azure OMS, SCOM and Microsoft Monitoring Agent)
  • Participate in the evolution and continuous improvement of the Change Control/Change Management process
  • Define corporate level Infrastructure roadmap documentation and provide input on their upkeep
  • Leverage scripting opportunities for deployments and maintenance utilizing PowerShell, VBScript, Ruby, Bash and Batch Files
  • Maintain maintenance and software contracts surrounding the Directory Services stack
  • Provide development and maintenance plans for the Directory Services infrastructure (Public and Private Cloud)
  • Provide development and maintenance of compute, network, backup and storage infrastructure (Public and Private Cloud)
  • Effectively lead a team and inspire others to achieve goals through innovation, quality and excellence
  • Mature leaderships skills and ability to delegate responsibilities effectively
  • Ability to identify strengths and areas for improvement of team members, provide feedback and coaching
  • Conduct formal performance evaluations of team members
  • Resource management and prioritization skills and ability to handle complex / sensitive issues
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are followed and enhanced as required
  • Foster collaboration with other technology teams and stakeholders
  • Work with project managers to provide appropriate support for business change

Education and Experience:

  • 7+ years of relevant expert technical experience as a seasoned infrastructure engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT field specifically Technical management or equivalent work experience required

Required Skills:

  • Communication – Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs
  • through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. This includes the ability to describe or explain complex processes and issues in a concise manner

  • Critical thinking – Understanding of the issues related to the decision-making process; ability to analyze situations fully and accurately, and reach productive decisions
  • Strong vendor relationship, procurement, asset management skills
  • Primary expertise related to Microsoft technologies; however, experience across the infrastructure stack to include server, software, networking, tools are also expected
  • Previous engineering experiences completing logical and physical designs to meet the technical needs and solve a business requirement
  • Knowledge and understanding of conceptual infrastructure architectures (Private/Public Cloud, automation, etc.)
  • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Experience working in large VMware environments
  • Experience completing logical and physical design documents
  • Experience with medium/large enterprises and their consumption of Technology applications
  • Experience with Multi-vendor hardware and software solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems
  • Familiar with milestones, measuring risks, completing cost estimates and operational design documents
  • Working knowledge of automation, monitoring, KPI and reporting
