Summary:

As the BI Engineer Intermediate, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise data solutions. Your expertise in various stages of project delivery and support will be crucial, encompassing requirements analysis, logical and physical design, implementation, testing, and deployment. The focus of your work will be on BI/Data Warehouse technologies, with in-depth experience using the Microsoft BI Stack, including SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize data gathering, research, and analytical skills to derive insightful conclusions and devise effective solutions to meet user needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery and support of data solutions.
  • Produce well-written communication materials that summarize findings and support recommendations.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and user acceptance testing strategies by creating test plans and actively participating in testing (Unit and UAT).

Education and Experience:

  • You should have at least 3 years of experience in Business Intelligence.
  • A BA/BS degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related fields is required.

Required Skills:

The ideal candidate for the BI Engineer Intermediate position should possess a proven understanding and expertise in various BI technologies. You must have demonstrated experience with the Microsoft BI stack, while exposure to other technologies like HaloBI, PowerBI, Tableau, Oracle, SAP BW, and SAP Business Objects will be advantageous.

Competency Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in database design and integration with SQL Server databases.
  • Proficiency in Relational Databases and SQL language.
  • Experience with Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) processes using Microsoft SSIS.
  • Knowledge of Analytics/OLAP Cube development with Microsoft SSAS.
  • Ability to develop reports using PowerBI.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and best practices, particularly Agile.
  • Skills in query/solution performance tuning and optimization.
  • Capable of troubleshooting and resolving incidents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Multi-Dimensional Expression (MDX) development.
  • Understanding of Master Data Management concepts.
  • Familiarity with heterogenous data integration methodologies, such as transmitting JSON/XML data via a REST API.
  • Knowledge of C# programming.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies like Azure, AWS, Snowflake, etc.

As the BI Engineer Intermediate, your role will be instrumental in ensuring the success of data-driven initiatives and the effective utilization of BI technologies within the organization. Your expertise in the Microsoft BI Stack and other related tools will be valuable assets in driving data solutions and supporting critical business needs.
