Director, Benefits
Overview:
This role requires on-site presence 3+ days a week in the Galleria Office in Atlanta, GA to foster collaboration, connection, and hands-on engagement with the team. It also demands deep expertise in benefits across multiple domains, including medical, pharmacy, dental, life, disability, employee assistance programs, 401(k), deferred compensation, and wellness.
The Director, Benefits is a data-driven strategist and employee advocate, designing benefits programs that are not only competitive and cost-effective but also deeply resonate with our workforce—especially our hourly team members in retail environments. Success requires critical thinking, research, and strategic storytelling to ensure employees understand, access, and value their benefits.

The Details:
What You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 15+ years of benefits experience, preferably in retail.
- 7+ years of project management and leadership experience.
- Experience with remote workforce benefits administration is a plus.
- Prior experience with Ceridian/Dayforce preferred.
- CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) or CBP (Certified Benefits Professional) preferred.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Leadership
- Establish and oversee the company’s benefits strategy in partnership with HR leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve program effectiveness and cost efficiency.
- Lead large-scale benefits initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions integration.
- Explore alternative benefits arrangements and look for ways to innovate, improve and make more cost effective the company’s benefits programs
Program Management
- Oversee all company-wide benefits programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and ERISA regulations.
- Evaluate and select benefits vendors in alignment with company needs.
- Partner with finance and accounting teams to analyze the financial impact of benefits programs.
Familiarity with ACA requirements
Employee Experience & Communications
- Develop a benefits communication strategy to enhance employee awareness and engagement.
- Provide executive updates on emerging benefits trends, legislation, and business impacts.
- Lead resolution of complex, escalated employee benefits issues.
Team Leadership
- Manage, coach, and develop benefits team members.
- Ensure alignment of benefits policies with overall company culture and objectives.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong expertise in benefits administration, compliance, and industry trends.
- Proven executive leadership engagement and relationship-building.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive strategic solutions.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed.
